Internet Sharing on i770

Hey Everyone,
I searched through the forums and couldn't find anything....Does anyone know how to install the MS "internet sharing" app on the saga....it comes stock with verizon's vzaccess app, but I'd rather use the MS app.
Thanks

Re: Internet Sharing on i770

This CAB did not work. Actually, now my phone is not recognizing the charger or data cable when it is plugged in. I uninstalled it and still have the problem....guess i should have done a backup. Any ideas on how to fix this. if not, Does anyone know how to set the saga back to the factory defaults?

Re: Internet Sharing on i770

OK...well you all have heard the old adage....if at first you don't succeed...

2nd time was the charm for me. I don't know why because i didn't do anything different then i did on the first installation. Anyway, it is working and much better then VzAccess Mgr.

Thanks again

Re: Internet Sharing on i770

Yes, I confirm that ICS works fine on the Saga, at least via USB. I have noticed that I'm missing many calls while in heavy data sessions -- it only rings some of the time. I'd like to experiment with toggling DDTM, but haven't found the registry entry yet. Anyone have an idea?

Also, I'd like to be able to turn EVDO completely off on certain occasions (e.g., when out of country and too cheap to buy Global eMail), or switch to EVDO-only on other occasions to keep the phone from ringing at all. Does anyone know where the EVDO-only, 1X-only, hybrid and other phone mode settings are located?

Re: Internet Sharing on i770

A cab file for your ppc is the equivalent of an executable (.exe) file on your PC. They are used to install programs onto your device.

Instructions:
1. Download and save the cab file from your PC (skip to step 4 if downloading the cab file from your Saga)
1. Connect your device via ActiveSync
2. Copy the cab file onto your Saga
3. Unplug your device from your PC
4. run the file from your phone to setup and install Internet Sharing
5. Navigate to your start menu and click the IntShrUI icon
6. Select appropriate connection type and Network Connection (USB and Broadband Access for me) and click Connect
7. Now plug your usb cable into your Saga to enjoy your phone's internet connection on your PC!

note: if the above doesn't work the first time around, a soft reset of your phone should solve the problem.
