Exclamation Titanium CHome edits not working!

Greetings.

I am using Lioryte's Base Titanium Theme on a Samsung Omnia i910 - and when I install various Titanium theme additions, and attempt to load them into the CHomeEditor... sometimes they will show-up - and other times, despite how many different ways I try, the add-on will not work. WHAT am I doing wrong??

I've hardbooted a good half dozen times and even went through installing a few different Titanium themes - and STILL get the same damn issue... that no matter which Panel option I select and think I have loaded, it either doesnt' show up at all... or will only show up on the Home screen, and yet not load when selected... or, it shows on the Editor list (such as TitaniumWeather, Taskanium and CwindowsLive) yet doesn't show on the Home screen.

I am perplexed as to what to do to "fix" what is going on.

I look forward to any kind assistance that can be offered.

Sincerely,

Sandy Korda

Re: Titanium CHome edits not working!

What theme are you trying these on. First of all, when you apply a theme, it rewrites your titaniumxxx_xxx.cpr. Any panels that were in there that were not supplied by the theme will not show because the phone has no 'instructions' on how to display them. After you install a theme, you'll have to re-install any plugins that aren't working. Most themes come with instructions for the standard lineup of panels, basically what lioryte puts in.

Re: Titanium CHome edits not working!

I have the same prob with that rom. And..when you try to put the panels in another order (even when you dont add any new panels) it doesnt always take. Sometimes the panel either wont show at all or you cant even take it out. Something is weird here...

Re: Titanium CHome edits not working!

Like I said, I was attempting to add to the Home Screen offerings provided by Lioryte's Base Titanium Theme - CE OS 5.2.23504 (Build 23504.5.5.0).

I had been able to make similar (successful) alterations and edits on an older 6.5 OS (and not that of a 6.5.1). Is there an actual manual as to how to use this feature...? I have tried to load COffice (after downloading the CAB file to my Storage card, and then selecting same and installed it to the Device (main memory). After having done that, I open CHomeEditor, and opt to add COffice to the main column of active panels. I select OK, and even reboot in the hopes it activates. Still nothing... I see Office in the panel selections, but when I select - for example, Excel... I get a window that pops up saying that, "The file "pxi" cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found." I loaded OFFICE in advance of the Office panel.

Is there any difference from CHomeEditor, or any of the others? Is there one better... and would/should it work on the Omnai i910...?

Thanks.

Re: Titanium CHome edits not working!

Hi All,
First, thanks for trying my ROM. When I build the ROM I make it base. meaning that I take out stuff that the SYS file (M$ builds) Comes with, like office, one note, livesearch, etc. Other than that and some minor tweaks I'm not doing anything that might cause this issues.

1. Panels will stay in whatever order you choose, once you change order, hit save order and than exit (exit refreshes titanium). I have no issues with any panels not installing/ showing the way I want them

2. Edit: I don't use COffice (I use menu to get to Office) so I installed it to see if I can repeat the issue and it's there.
So I HR, installed office to device memory and COffice and it's working now. So I would install Office to device memory and see how git goes.

Q: Did any of you installed the Calendar. ext cab I posted before having those issues?

Re: Titanium CHome edits not working!

Thank you for your speedy reply, I have loaded the actual Office (and many other similar programs) a number of times... each time - directly to the device memory, and not to a card or storage. I can open them in PROGRAMS or by selecting their images through the START button option... but have ZERO luck when attempting to access same through any CHome or CLauncher attempt. In fact, the latter option doesn't even work.

I have no idea what is going on; I'm NOT naive in using or programming this device, as I have updated it many times in the past... with never a result such as this.

Any assistance would be most helpful.

Say, you wouldn't have a more loaded version of this OS... or one that, say is more like the HERO...?

Re: Titanium CHome edits not working!

Nop, try build 23506 maybe it will work better (but wait I'm updating later on today), that's the build I'm using right now and as I've said I installed office to device memory and COffice to device memory (Doh) and it seems to work.
As for a CHero ROM, try evidence ROM
If not here at ppcgeeks than try modaco.

Re: Titanium CHome edits not working!

After looking into it, this is definitely an install error. I tested it, installed COffice to device memory and Office to my storage and got the same error. I than installed Office to device memory and viola
