Samsung Ominia i910 and My '08 Altima

Hey folks. I own a '08 Nissan Altima w/nav system and a Samsung Omnia i910 mobile phone purchased through Verizon. I'm having bluetooth issues. Phone pairs fine with vehicle but will not transfer to vehicle's audio system when placing/receiving a call. I'm told that it is a "BT stacking issue." OK....I'll admit, I'm completely ignorant of what that is or who I need to talk to. So far I have spoken to Nissan's Bluetooth tech support, Samsung tech support, and Verizon's tech support. They all basically point the finger at each other for the solution. Who next: Microsoft? Anyone having a similar issue with a possible solution?

I believe Nissan is to blame here.

Re: Samsung Ominia i910 and My '08 Altima

I can confirm the same behavior in my 07 infiniti G35 sedan with navigation. This sounds like a compatability issue between nissan and samsung. I recently upgraded to the Omnia from a i730 and had high hopes for the BT hands free functionality. I also had issues with my i730 and my G35. With the i730, antenna signal strength and battery level did not show and placing a call often resulted in a situation where I could hear the person I was calling, but they couldn't hear me (mic wasn't getting routed correctly).

With the omnia, I was excited to see the antenna signal and batter level indicators working. Unfortunately, audio for the incomming and outgoing calls does not seem to be routing correctly. I have found that if you switch to the handset and then switch back, it works correctly. I also know that other phones have been made compatible with the nissan system with registry edits. Hopefully someone can figure out how to do this with the omnia!

Re: Samsung Ominia i910 and My '08 Altima

I have no problems pairing and using my Omnia with my '07 Altima. Audio quality is good, and the voice recognition accuracy is better than I expected.

I've seen a lot of complaints online about people having trouble pairing various phones with the BT system in the Nissan products but I've had no problem either with the Omnia or with my Treo. There is some talk about an upgraded BT stack; I'd hit Verizon with this and point out that other phones will pair with the Nissan system just fine.

Do you have the navigation system? I've heard that people with cars that don't have the navigation system have a lot less compatability issues with BT handsfree.

Nope, didn't get suckered in on the nav system.

Thats funny you say that cause I never had any problems in my G37. Maybe because its a different model car? I doubt thats it tho.

Do you have the nav system in yours? This is an issue specifically with the nissan/infiniti nav system.
