Red face Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks

Hello guys, I am new to this forum and the Omnia breaking and fixing business.

Your contribution is appreciated.

I found these usefull information and would like to share with you.

Editing Ringtone 3s delay:
Looping Ringtones Delay
Ring tone has a standard 3 seconds delay before repeating. You can set the delay from 0 second to how many second that you want.
Code:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0
Change 'Script' from 'av0pw3r' to 'av0pr' and you'll get 0 sec delay.
OR change it to
av0pw1r = wait for 1 sec
av0pw2r = wait for 2 sec
and so on...

Plus..heres the code
a - stands for display
r - repeat/replay the script again
c - sets the volume C50, c150, c100
f - means flash .. f1 flash for 1 second and f0 stands for flash continuously
p -means play ringtone
v- vibrate then incorporate with number to state how many seconds it will vibrate example. v3 vibrate for 3seconds or v - for continous
w - stands for wait or pause then specify how many seconds like w3(wait for 3 seconds)

heres the example
Flash - af1w60f0
Ring - apw3r
Ring Once - ap
Increasing Ring - c50apw3c150r
Vibrate Then Ring - v3w3apw3r
Vibrate - av3w3r
Short Vibrate - av1w3r
Vibrate Long Then Ring - v3w3v3w3apw3r
Vibrate And Ring - av0pw3r
Increasing Ring And Vibrate - c50apv3w3c150r
Fast Vibrate And Flash - af1v1w1f0r
Vibrate and Ring Continuously without pausing - av0pr

Improve Touch Sensitivity
[ H K E Y _ L O C A L _ M A C H I N E \ \ H A R D W A R E \ D E V I C E M A P \ T O U C H ]
” C l i c k ” = d w o r d : set to 2000
[ H K E Y _ L O C A L _ M A C H I N E \ \ H A R D W A R E \ D E V I C E M A P \ T O U C H ]
” D o w n U p ” = d w o r d : set to 750
soft reset required

Disable Samsung Dialer Skin (save approx 10MB RAM)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin]
“Enabled”=dword:1, you should change to 0 and reboot your Omnia
(This disable video call)

Some of this may be old news to some of you guys.

Nice meeting you all

Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks

Install resoco file explorer and then install resco registry editor. Download the cab and add it to your phone.

I don't have enough posts in this forum to add links but just google resco registry editor windows mobile.

Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks

There are lot's of interesting ST2 themes.
However, is it possible to customize/change "phonebook" and to replace with contacts?
Is there some ST2 theme where calendar exists?
Is there a CAB file for it?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks

Hello, new here. A few questions first do these hacks work with all Omina 2's, I have the i920 but have noticed a lot of you have the i910.

Sec and what I'm really interested in is deleting programs in main storage to make room for programs I want to run (which has to be in the main program file). I'd like to dump facebook, Mobile IM, podcast, and replace bing w/a simple google browser. If there are other things that cam be deleted I'd love to know. Thanks

Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks

sharkbite....A couple things:

If you have the Omnia II, be careful with these tweaks, they are posted/tested on the Omnia I (i910) so some may work, and others may not. I would probably try out the exe's, apps, and simple tweaks, but the reg changes I would either be prepared for a hard reset or keep very careful track of what you changed.

The apps your looking to delete sound like they are included in your ROM, and there is no way of truly 'deleting them (even if you delete the files, they would come back after a reset). To do this, you need to wait for a custom ROM to suit your needs (not sure if they are being cooked yet, I don't think so though). Saying that, I have found most apps that say they need to be in main memory (and offer a choice) work great in the onboard memory.

Good luck, and if you try some of the tweaks, maybe your success/failure postings will help other Omnia II owners!!

Red face Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks

Adrynalyne: Last year around March you created a .cab file to stop the warning beep of the battery when it got below 50% for the 1st Omnia. It worked great! Problem: I just updated my Omnia software and thought I saved that .cab file. I guess I didn't and now my phone is beeping again when the battery is below 50%. Could you please repost or direct me to the file so I can load it again? I'll save it this time! Thanks so much!
