Yep, until you see the splash screen. Otherwise you just put the phone into standby.

Doesn't look like it, but it shouldn't matter. I don't even know if this would be grounds for voiding your warranty, after all you're flashing Verizon's own software, using Samsung's own tools. If you're doing a custom/cooked ROM, sure, then you're breaking the rules - but if you flash the "beta" ROM, you aren't doing anything that the phone wasn't designed to do. Not only that, but the people at the shop most likely wouldn't have a clue that you've done anything anyway.

The problem I have is the GPS works, but don't know of any program that performs a vocal turn by turn and redirect. So I would like the option to use VZ Nav, but it don't work with this ROM. Any ideas?

You can get voice turn by turn from Tom Tom, Igo8 and I think Garmin for starters. Just about any of the bigger GPS apps out there really.

Re: Any hope of GPS unlock for Verizon Omnia?

Hey iDoc, is it possible to put the firmware up on another share site? My work blocks megaupload.

Thanks. I can't wait to finally get this GPS to work.

Re: Any hope of GPS unlock for Verizon Omnia?

Ok, So I have the ROM loaded now. I don't seem to be having any luck with Windows Live Search finding me on GPS. Any tips? What COM port is working for people? Am I missing a step?

Thanks for the help to a n00b.
