Samsung Omnia 2 i8000 issue!! Pretty please help!!

I recently got the Samsung Omnia 2 and I am having nothing but issues with it. My main concern is that it has a serious delay with everything I do, especially texting, it takes about three minutes JUST to open a message, I often have to stop it from going into sleep mode while I am waiting!!! It came with Opera mobile but it doesn't seem to work as well as what I had on my HTC touch (that phone was modified by someone who had the help of this site).
I'm looking for a software upgrade or applications that will help or just a way to completely overhaul the phone and make it my own.
I am mildly savvy with this stuff but I am LOST with what to do with this phone. If anyone could help me I will be forever grateful!!!
Thanks much!!
Shell :)

how many texts do you have stored on it, and what is you main memory like? I find the phone gets slower as it gets jammed full of texts, and programs still running in the background

I guess the real question is "has the unit been this slow since day one?". If the answer is yes, then I'd try a hard reset and see if that fixes things. If it doesn't, I'd look at returning it or taking it in for your carrier to spend their time, and not yours, on it.

If the answer is no, and it's only got this slow lately, then check what Main Storage memory you have left. Coming from a TP2 this really threw me until I looked into it. I'd installed everything to "Device" and before I knew it I had 6MB left....and I really didn't install that much! Couple that with any documents you store in the main My Documents area. Couple that with the Opera cache...and you could simply be really low on memory.

Personally once I'd had mine a few days and realized how things work with the "Device" memory versus the "My Storage", I did a hard reset and reinstalled all my apps to "My Storage". Now I have just under 60MB left.

There is also a way to move your Opera cache to the My Storage drive too. You can google that if you're interested. Try clearing your cache now to and see what memory you have afterwards.

I also moved straight away from the Samsung WidgetPlus and to my more familiar and customizable SPB MobileShell 3.5.5. Each to their own on that one though ;)
