PPCGeeks - choices

Here is my humble opinion. I have had a bunch of smartphones lately, including the two you mentioned. My wife was using my old Imagio with SPB Mobile Shell installed and she loved it until the end key quit working. The replacement is fine so far but all the reported button problems worry me. I loved the design and function of the phone however.

I am currently switching between the Moto Droid and the Omnia II. I love them both and it's very hard for me to pick a favorite. But I will say that I dislike the Samsung widget shell. It is very laggy while switching screens and waiting for the widgets to load. I'm now running SPB shell on this and the phone runs fantastic. The screen is stunning and Swype is all I use for texting anymore (Swype can be put on the Imagio too). The physical keys seems more robust than the Imagio and the camera is much better IMO. The only thing I don't care for is the slippery finish, but it's not a huge deal.

The Omnia sort of fell off the radar due to it's delayed release and doesn't seem to get any attention, but in my opinion it's a really good phone and I like mine a lot. I would pick it over the Imagio, but only with Mobile Shell installed..
