spb ms 3.5.x features working properly?
 

I am currently using the SPB Mobile Shell 3.5.0 on my O2, however, some of the features that spb advertises, like the 3D carousel and the rotating screen (when I turn the phone to landscape) don't work. Is this because I don't have the latest and greatest version (3.5.2)?

*UPDATE*: I upgraded my SPB Mobile Shell version now to 3.5.2. I still, however, am not getting the carousel to function in its 3D mode and it still won't turn to landscape view when the phone is turned sideways.

I've contacted SPB support and currently they have no update or bug fix to recognize the G-sensor in the O2. Said that they are working on a fix for this and will be available in the future.

To enable the 3D carousel you need to install OpenGLESv1.cab which I've included below. Then enable it by going to HKLM\Software\SPB Softwarehouse2\Spb Mobile Shell\GI--> change "GlEnabled" from 0 to 1. I take no credit for this tweak, I read this on a thread at modaco and just passing along the info.

No issues for me. Running 3.5.1. Best thing I ever did for this phone. I was ready to pack it in after a week but Mobile Shell quickly made me realize that this phone has potential.

Sorry, guys. I get the 3D carousel, but now I cannot select the panels. Not cute.

Thanks!! I installed the .cab but I'm not exactly sure on how to do the enabling process that you're discribing.

You need to have a registry editor to enable it.

I really like CeRegEditor. It is loaded on the PC, then connect your phone via the USB cable and you can edit from the pc once you have opened the connection thru CeRegEditor.

Great post!!! Now that I have this editor, what other tricks can I do with it? I could do some serious damage with this access :grin:

3.5.3 was released yesterday. The carousel works. The g sensor doesn't seem to.
