Re: on phone keep hitting things with face
Honestly, I think it's just the way the phone is held because I do the same thing and my prox sensor is fine. If I hold it on my right ear, it doesn't do it, but it does on my left ear. The sensor is just positioned a little strange, but what can you expect with Sprint putting their fat logo right in the middle?

Re: on phone keep hitting things with face
grab this app,
http://www.androlib.com/android.appl...test-qxpE.aspx you can test your proximity sensor out. Unfortunately, for the prox sensor there is only 0 and 1, but it will at least give you an idea if the sensor is working or not. |
Re: on phone keep hitting things with face
I'm pretty sure the proximity sensor works in conjunction with the accelerometer, so it only works when the phone is orientated a certain way. in winmo there are reg entries for this.

Re: on phone keep hitting things with face
There is also an app "proximity sensor" in the android market...works great with my Sprint Hero...

From Android Market

There is also an app called shake awake in the market. you can shake the phone to wake it up during a call. however, I never seemed to get it to work right, and it was very sensitive on the Moment ](*,) |
