So, I'm not sure what is involved.. but it seems like the goal of every new android phone...

i've noticed that the galaxy was just rooted and it was also a samsung:

so if anyone has any news or any skill in this area, can you post progress here?

Re: Rooting

I say lets see who in here has rooting experience. It seems that we dont have as much pull for the Moment as the Hero. Hero clearly is getting much more support.

Someone has pointed out over at Android forums that the Samsung PC Studio has an unsigned firmware for the moment that might be able to exploit for rooting.

I am by far not a programmer but I would donate to anyone who could help in this cause to root the Moment.

The stock software is awful on this phone and has so many bugs. A good root could change all that.

Re: Rooting

does the new flashrec work on the moment? I don't have one, but you coudl possibly try it out, there's a CDMA rooting of the Hero, it may work for the moment

Re: Rooting

The Hero hack is confirmed not to work on the moment. Over at samsungmomentforum.com in the how to section is one person willing to help hack the moment. Let's see if we all can work together for a common goal.
