What version of Android is on the Sprint Moment?

The current shipped version is 2.1

2.5? you should probably do a little research on it before buying. Not every phone is for everyone. 2.2 will not OFFICIALLY be put on the Moment.

not completely true...some are still coming with 1.5.

go to menu settings about phone and look there it will tell you..

Either way if it doesn't come with 2.1, it can be updated to 2.1 easily, and in store....no need to confuse someone.

not trying to confuse anyone but the op ask what version is on there if you want to get technical you can get 2.2 on the moment,granted just about nothing works but you can get it.just wanted to let the op know how to see what version is there.

Thanks folks, my wife is thinking of getting the Moment and she wanted the latest Ver on the phone. So, as I understand it then, if it's not 2.1 when we get it we d/l the upgrade as it is officially available, and also it will not be upgradable to Froyo...right?

Froyo is not available yet. Well froyo is available in parts but I do not believe the radios work with it. When it is released a dev might get it to work with the moment.

Yep, 2.1 is the one you want. But if you are interested in updates, official or not, keep checking back here. We usually try to stay well informed.
