Streaming Video

On the sprint commercial the guy was talking about streaming videos to his phone. I can't figure how to get it to work. I want videos from my laptop to play on my phone. Would be cool if I could do it anywhere but, I'm quite fine over network/wifi. Any help would be awesome.:)

I think in the commercial when he is streaming, he is doing it form the internet using the 4G connection, that is the point of the commercial IMO. I don't know if there are any apps or whatnot to stream from your PC but I am sure someone will let us know :)

I think they are using the 4G wireless adapter for a laptop in the commercial for the streaming, not the phone. It is streaming off of the USB 4G device or that mobile hotspot thingy they got going.

When I watch the commercial he only has his phone out. I kinda figured it was the USB and the HotSpot for the video chat and online gaming. I could be wrong.

To me when they were being all snobby with what THEIR network can do. They would say oh, I can do a live chat with the new usb 4g berr berr berrr:spin:
and show the usb in the laptop running this AMAZING, AMAZING, well not that amazing because it was simulated.... video chat..:lol: And when they are out in great outdoors... and by great outdoors I mean the hunting/outdoors section at their local store.:lol: All playing games on the hotspot they showed the hotspot.

That's just my thoughts. :dontknow:

Thanks I'll look into it!=D>
I found a tut or "stream" videos to my phone via wifi (I'm sure it was wifi only). But installing on my phone just seems like it wont work. Not sure how to install .jar stuff on the phone. The program for the computer is called "TVersity". Is anyone can find the tut and try it. and it works let me know. I got it to load pictures but trying to add my media folders seemed to crash the software. I'd give the link but I found it at like 4AM and firefox has been crashing so I lost all my history and crap. ](*,)

Thank you both for the info!!! \\:D/:notworthy:

I went to the link that elephant007 provided and looked for the app they were talking about on the page. I can't find it in my market. BUT I use a cool site that has a lot of cool apps. I say an advertisement for an app that I was looking for!!!! I'm trying it now. And I'll report back!!!

Re: Streaming Video

So the App was a total waste. But I don't know why I didn't think of this.:oops: I use Gmote a lot! Well you can stream videos from your computer(laptop whatever:-P) on your phone! Its "beta" but it works. Free app! Now only downside is as of right now. It only supports .3gp. Now I have been converting videos for a long time so I have software to do so. As far as I know there aren't many free "good" converters. This isn't a total loss though. Only real downsides of using Gmote (or others like it) is the conversion which means maybe spending a little money on software and, disk-space. So I guess I found a semi fix to my problem lol. But if anyone has more info. Please share I'd like to hear from others:mrgreen:

Re: Streaming Video

look for a program in the market called gmote...

that should help you...there is no transcoding so you will have to make sure the vids are in a format that your phone can play...but it works
