Bye Bye Windows Start Bar...
 

Running SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 to replace the home screen, there's not much use for the Windows Start Bar anymore...

To get rid of it (must be running the spb mobile shell):

1)Copy the qa_layouts.dat file from the phone's /program files/Spb mobile shell/ directory to your computer

2)Right click on the qa_layouts.dat file on your pc...click 'open with' and select winzip.

3)Winzip will ask you for a password...it's b0fm18zq

4)Inside winzip, right click on LockScreen2.xml and click 'open with' and use windows notepad

5)Under <Layout Name="320x240"> change height to 240

6)Save and exit notepad, winzip will ask you if you want to update the archive, click yes and ok, and make sure the encrypt box is checked.

7)Now exit winzip and replace the qa_layouts.dat file on your phone with this new one

8-On your phone, go to Start - Settings - Today - Items and make sure no boxes are checked

9)Put a copy of vjtoggletodayiialpha.exe into your phone's My Device/Windows/StartUp directory, google the file or use the attached .txt file that you MUST CHANGE TO A .EXE file

10)Soft Reset and should be good to go

I must have done something wrong because now my mobile shell reads "error" in the center of the screen.

**EDIT**

Nevermind, I reloaded SPB and now I was able to do it. I was using WinRAR and that was making the entire process difficult as you cant open files from it. I am definitely lovin it. Thanks!

FYI doesn't work right if you're using S2U2. Start bar reappears after unlock and apps have an empty space where the start bar was. While having the extra real estate is nice the weirdness of everything else isn't. For me at least.

I Got The Error Message Also. And You Can Still See Some Of My Taskbar. What Should I Do?
