need help with sound settings

Hey all, little help. Somehow I've got the settings screwed up for sounds, either from running SKtools or installing the Audiotweaks cab on the Haus's tips thread. Not sure which, but now when I go into Settings-> Sounds & Notifications -> Notifications, I can't set up my sounds anymore. My incoming text sound is there, but it won't play. My ring tone keeps defaulting to the one at the top of the list "Animato Tone." The sequence of events on this tab when I try and change sounds is:

I select the event and tone. I cannot preview sounds, I don't hear anything when I do.

I hit OK.

the phone thinks for a second, then resets to the first possible event "Incoming Call" and the first possible sound (Animato). And it never leaves the Sounds and Notifications page. Everytime I hit OK, it just keeps resetting like that.

I'm probably missing something obvious here.

Re: need help with sound settings

Personally, at that point I'd hard reset and start over. Audio problems just seem impossible to solve.

I didn't post an audio tweaks cab in my thread...all I posted were registry edits. Where did you find the audiotweaks cab, and what is/was it supposed to do? (answered below)

Re: need help with sound settings

Nevermind, I found it, it was a cab created by 1sae in post 157. I've never used it, so I can't speak to it...you can open up the cab file using explorer and look at the xml file to see the regedit changes it makes.

Re: need help with sound settings

aargh, that's what I ended up doing and it worked, just hate reinstalling everything and resetting email settings etc. I've got it back mostly the way it was before. Mostly.

Re: need help with sound settings

I found myself hard resetting my intrepid so many times, that's why I created the cab file, just to make it a little easier. It doesn't do anything other than the some of the reg tweaks I use from Haus's first post. I've used it a number of times and never ran into that problem.
