MicroSD card and WMP

Hi Anyone having problems with their microsd card on their Intrepid or any other winmo phone? More specifically, windows media player mobile keeps losing recognition of the microsd card. It would recognize the card and update the library with all my songs. Everything would work fine until WMP stops recognizing the card and all my songs on the card would disappear from the WMP library.

So everytime this happens I would have go to the MSMETADATA file on my storage card and delete it, and then re-update my library from WMP. this keeps happening and I have to keep doing the same thing over and over again every few days. Wondering if anyone with the Intrepid or any WM phone having the same problem? I suspect this problem is not specific to the Intrepid based on what I've found on a google search, but I also haven't found any solution to this either. thanks

Re: MicroSD card and WMP

I played video from my card on the plane using WMP for a couple of hours and didn't have any issues, but I don't have hundreds of files on it (just a few big ones, TV shows and DVDs and some photos mostly, along with work files). Haven't seen any issues on my Intrepid yet, but yes this is a *VERY* common issue, I think every WM phone on this forum will have at least one thread about SD card failure, unfortunately.

If you have a second card to try, it's worth a shot. Cards are getting pretty cheap nowadays, so it might be worth buying a new one. I always go the fastest I can. My current one is a Transcend 8GB class 6, $22 from Newegg with free shipping.

Would the class type for the SD card matter?

Re: MicroSD card and WMP

I don't know if the class of card matters but I have a sandisk. The only thing is, I go through winmo phones like crazy, here's a list of phone that my sd card worked just fine on: palm treo pro, htc touch pro 1 & 2, treo 800, treo 700, samsung epix. So that's why im inclined to say this is an intrepid issue... Buut im gonna get a new card to test lol

Re: MicroSD card and WMP

I have a few MicroSD card, from 512MB to 16GB and they all have problems.

I just tried loading 60 songs on a 1GB card. Both WMedia Player and Pocket player load about 40 of the 60 songs.

Anyone have any other updates to these issues? My girlfriend's Intrepid does the same thing. This is kind of a big deal to me because I had plans to use this as a part time MP3 player.

I feel your pain, ive had this issue since day one. No there is currently no fix for wmp and i dont see one coming (i think sprint and samsung have been notified, but maybe not) the only thing to do is use a different mp3 player. Kinoma Free Play works good, switches songs quick and it reads all my songs

I don't think it's a WMP issue. I use Pocket Player also and it has been plagued with the same problem.
