Rogers Captivate i896 Upload speeds and unlocking
 

Hi all,

I have a new i896 with Rogers and have no intention of using it on the Rogers network therefore really need to unlock it. SGS unlocker did not work for me and all the other ways listed do not seem to work for me... I tried to purchase a code from cellunlockingcodes.com. They said the code was available but then refunded me as they were unable to provide me with a code.

My second concern is the upload speed seems to be capped at 200 kbps even in Wifi. I guess this is a software limitation? I`ve seen some posts regarding this with the ATT Captivate and a sw update should fix it. But I do not want to stay stuck with a device that is capped at 200 kbps upload.

Anyone has any idea why my speed is limited at 200 kbps and also is there a specific post regarding the unlocking of the i896 unlocking??

I was in a similar situation and this method worked for me Samsung Galaxy S Unlocker all I needed was a 4$ app of root explorer because I don't get how to use ADB. If you can use ADB it is free.
