dvd to mp4 help

What r u guys using to rip ur dvds to watch on ur computer and to install them to ur phone using mp4?
What's out there for free?
I tryed hand brake, but I does not work on my computer. Maybe its a window vista thing? It stopes working whne it tryes to rip.

what file wont pc play? vlc plays everything i throw at it and stock epic app plays anything ive tried too.

Hey darren, ur a lot help on this forum. Thank you..
I haven't been able to play any file on my epic. I haven't. Been able to rip anydvd. So far handbrake just gets stuck after I try to rip it. Just keeps loading. The dvd it self will play on my computer just can't rip to it.. i do u need to have a dvd burner to rip them to the computer? All I have is a dvd player.

lol, that would be a issue then. google what movie you want, im sure its somewhere then dl it to epic, i have like 10 movies on epic in all file types that play fine.

there was a sticky somewhere in the forums that had the settings to the epic when using handbrake. i cant seem to find it using search.

There is a great little program called Bitripper ( Convert DVD to Avi and Mpeg using bitRipper ) that rips DVDs to AVI and compresses them down to about 700MB. It works on about 90% of the movies I have used it on. Some of the newer high-tech big-budget movies have incorporated digital encryption that Bitripper can't decode, but those are few and far between. I have ripped dozens of DVD that I own to AVI format using it...saves tons of space on my PC and the Epic reads AVI files just fine. No need to convert to MP4.
