Samsung Vibrant - Trying to get rid of Preloaded Apps and Ringtones

I am trying to get rid of a lot of the preloaded Apps on my Vibrant, but can't seem to find a way to do it. Also, I had a G1 and was able to use individual ringtones and notification tones. Have ringdroid, but when I go to edit the contacts, there is no field for ringtones. Am I crazy or is the Vibrant not able to do this?

Moved to Android Apps and Games.

Use Root Explorer (you need root) to remove Preloaded apps. I don't know an answer to the second question since I don't make us of that.

Just create a "notifications" and "ringtones" folder on your SD card. You may have to reboot after that.

To root is simple..you won't brick your device:

[PROGRAM] Updated:One Click Root/UnRoot (Mac and PC) - xda-developers

So you know..Galaxy S phones are probably the hardest to hard-brick.

Root explorer can be found on the market place..but its payed..there are free alternatives like SDX App remover and Titanium Backup can also remove apps.

Also I suggest you backup the apps before removing them as removing stock apps will prevent you from getting OTA updates.

Moved to Galaxy S section as it exists now
