nobody camping out tonight?!?
 

I'm surprised I haven't seen one mention of camping out in order to buy an Epic as the case was with the iPhone and Evo. Any theories?

That's because you will be able to get one without waiting in line all night....the hype is not as prominent with this phone compared to the iphone or EVO. Thank Sprint/Samsung for that.

Best Buy has my $50 pre-order deposit so I'll hang out an hour early max. I wouldn't exactly call it camping though. She did say I was guaranteed to get it anyway with my pre-order but you never know. I don't think the Epic has gotten as much hype money spent on it.

I have a confirmation with the Sprint store which is supposed to open early at 8am... but I have a preorder with bestbuy also, we were 3rd so we should get a call to "set an appointment" from BB today.. I'm expecting to pick it up as soon as they open, and use the Sprint hold as a backup plan.

I have a radio show until midnight... and I'm bring a 9-month old. so... no.
I am getting there right before 8 though.
When I asked about it at the store, they said for the EVO, they had 6 people waiting at 8am.

I don't think we are seeing the hype for this because the Evo was hyped as "the first 4g phone."
Why spend extra money for "the second 4g phone."
Ill order mine tomorrow morning through Telesales.

To be more exactly Sprint hyped the EVO and gave it out to celebrities..advertisement on every single tech site and etc...the Epic got hardly any advertisement..I think Samsung had to advertise it themselves...

But unlike the Evo, since Samsung is in charge of its own manufacturing there is really no reason for them to run out of stock...mostly if you pre-ordered.

no reason to camp, reserved at two places, and judging by the confidence of the store rep, it seems like there will be plenty to go around at retail stores ;)

I just called my Best Buy Mobile and he recommended NOT coming it at opening and to wait a little while so there's no traffic, as I'm guaranteed to get one tomorrow with my pre-order. This makes me happy.

my local best buy has mine right now. but i cant get it until tomorrow. but when i pre ordered it, she said i was only the second person to do so. so i feel it will be a in and out situation..... l hope. (i pre ordered it yesterday).
