Engadget Epic 4g Review + Gizmodo, Slashgear, Laptopmag, Cnet Review

Now remember this is a general consumer review...either way it got an 8/10 mostly due to being 50$ extra lol

http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/16/epic-4g-review/

One important thing to note is the 400mb reserved for apps..but doesn't say exactly how much space is on there exactly unfortunately...

oh Gizmodo review:

Re: Engadget Epic 4g Review

haha, you beat me to posting it here.

EDIT: GPS bug fixed

"[Update: We just spoke with Samsung, who told us that Google is now requiring that the "use wireless networks" setting for location-based services be turned off by default in Android devices -- in other words, no AGPS unless you manually enable it. Sure enough, we went into Settings, found that it was disabled on the Epic, turned it on, and we were good to go. No GPS bug!]"

muwahaha...

But I'm a bit upset at Engadget to not answer the most frequent questions people had about the device...aside from of course the GPS issue which was given :/

Edit:
Gasp..I just read the Gizmodo review..and the only time it mentions the iphone 4 is to say how the Galaxy S is better then it in that sense..I'm gonna go have a heart attack now BRB.

my guess is its screwed..the GPS bug does not happen for everyone...it depends on the area you are in..also some firmware perform better GPS performance in general...

Either way the GPS issue is a software bug from what I read...and Samsung promised a fix in sept so everyone should be in the 30 days for the fix.

I hope its a software issue too but it's hard to believe the "bug" has persisted from the Samsung Moment (two? years ago). that's just lazy on samsung's part if it's a software bug. Though it's in their best interest for it to be a software bug, if it was a hardware issue, there would be a class action law suit.

From what I read..there was this one review showing using Google maps and got the GPS issue..then used a GPS software and same issue..then used another software and it worked flawlessly....so my guess is it is a driver issue...
