Ok so latest numbers are: 1 million world wide and 300k in korea alone.

Samsung plans to get at least 10 million devices world wide over all

So if a device is gonna have 10 million users at the least..we will probably see huge amount of development for the device for sure :)

couple of guys on the Evo thread were saying that even though the galaxy s is rooted, we won't see custom roms on this phone because samsung phones require samsung roms. ex. samsung moment, it was rooted but android 2.1 didn't come out for it till a samsung rom of it was leaked.

Yes the custom roms are but upon the samsung ones..so we would be able to put custom roms, just limited. The limitation from what people are saying are the encrypted drivers...but maybe with enough device support someone will be able to decrypt them or reverse engineer them to make it possible...

You own many samsung things without even knowing..they produce a lot of the internal components...
