Benefits of Epic 4g being rooted

I know in advance that this is a noob questions but i just had to ask.

What will be the benefits of having the Sprint Epic 4g rooted. What great will come from it. What new things will be able to do. Will this make it possible to have stealth tether like on the tp2 running MM FF. Will it run smoother or faster. Will we still be able to download any app we want to.
?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????

Just like other Android phones, it will let you install apps that require root access, like the wifi tether app in the Market (assuming it works with the Galaxy).

Eventually, it will hopefully let you install custom ROMs, but that's more dependent on the Recovery being unlocked.

Assuming someone starts creating kernels for you, you could potentially overclock it as well.

It might also give you the ability of using a different launcher and getting rid of TouchWiz.

Whats wrong with TouchWiz? if someone creates kernels and overclocks the phone how much more speed could be obtained? What kind of custom roms would be able what would they be able to do?

Touchwiz 3.0 is amazing looking. I would not want to get rid of it. All the video demos I have seen of TouchWiz 3.0 are blazing fast and beautiful.

I'd def. be interested in wifi tethering. Ha. as I'm typing this, there was an Evo ad on Hulu. I'm waiting for the Epic :)

If this video shows how Touchwiz 3.0 is on the Epic 4g then touchwiz is not bad at all. looks very nice
