Sim card for note 3

I noticed this phone has a micro Sim card.

Sim is usually GSM and Sprint is CDMA.

Last phone i had from sprint with sim was world phone which is why it had a sim cars. Is this a world phone too?

Is that a bad (expensive) thing?

Or is it better to just go prepaid during over seas travel? not so much as calls but data for me
