Re: Your opinions on the Epic Touch 4G

I have had this phone for a couple of days and I love it. I just got done rooting it and after much searching, finally found the wireless tether app that I used on my Evo 4G. The only thing is, it doesn't seem to be working properly. My laptop recognizes the signal, but can not gain access to the internet. This is very frustrating seeing as how I use my laptop out in the field for work and this was my only means of accessing the internet. Does anyone happen to know why this might be happening or what I might be able to do to fix it? Keep in mind that I am still a novice when it comes to most of this stuff.

It might be that your laptop cannot connect to an adhoc wifi connection that most wireless tether apps use. Or, the tether app has an access restriction function that you need to set to grant access to the laptop. I'm assuming you have Sprint service?

If you are rooted, there is a hacked hotspot app over at xda that is infrastructure and for sure your laptop will connect to. Be sure to get the proper version for your ROM.

The thing is, I have used this very app before with my Evo as recently as last week. I am assuming that it has something to do with the phone rather than the laptop. I searched around a link to that app at xda, but couldn't locate it quickly. Does anyone here have a link that I can use?

Yes, I have tried both the regular version and the beta 3.0 version. The beta 3.0 version had some strange effects on my phone, so the first time I downloaded it, I ended up quickly uninstalling it shortly there after.
