ROM vs. Kitchen

Hi there... I am a new PPC user (I had a smartphone in the past) and I am now ready to start trying to tweak my phone. I have been doing a little research here, reading through the threads, but one thing is completely confusing to me, and I can't seem to find the answer anywhere... can someone tell me the difference between a Kitchen and a ROM?

Thanks for the help!

one you should put this into gerneral threads and the difference is that a kitchen is used to make a rom and a rom is what is on your phone.

Welcome to the forums :) And it's like LongHorn said , the kitchens are what you use to create your own custom taylored rom and as well all the chefs need a kitchen to create their roms. Most of us , I think , prefer to pass the kitchens up in favor of ready made roms such as the ones in my sig or like Longhorns rom posted above ^

Yeah and the roms are done by experienced cooks, but some of the kitchens can be useful to even a novice like me with enough reading.

Thanks for the replies... very helpful. And yes, I realized after I posted the question that it should have gone in the "General" thread, but I could not see how to move it.
