Some other things Sogarth discovered:

1. Terminal Services client is missing
2. Camera.exe shortcut in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs is missing

yep, there is no help in start menu... so some of the shortcuts are borked.

Terminal Services? I have Remote Desktop - are they different?

Edit: looks like maybe those missing help files are still missing as well

Yeah remote desktop is a rip from a pre-release WM6 ROM... it isn't in the kitchen (and shouldn't be IMHO since it's not WM5 code).

Scratch the help file issue

Help isn't in the Start menu (should be) but checking it in the Settings/Menu gets it there at the bottom where it belongs (manually coping it didn't seem to work tho - weird - so we might want to find out how this is different then helmi's 3.5 kitchen where it was there after a flash)

Good news, seems like context-sensitive help files are there now... Q/A could test doing Start/Help for all the bundled apps to make sure they're there - I just tested a few that were missing (contacts, calendar)

One more problem with rc1...10

The wav files (and possibly the wma files as well) have the hidden attribute set, so they don't show up under settings/sounds/notifications as choices - didn't check ringtones but that could also be true for them as well.

Just need to change them to not have the hidden attribute before you build the rom (I think, anyway - I "fixed" it by copying them all out, clearing the hiddent attribute, then copying them back into \Windows on the device - gotta try changing the files iin the kitchen and rebuilding.

Oops. Looks like I was too aggressive with that. I'll fix that for the next.

where is that done sogarth? I tried just changing the properties of the wave files, but for some reason I couldn't change the readonly attribute?

Also, running mortplayer (OEM, this is unchanged from my previous stock helmi 3.5 build) the 6700 froze twice during playback - each time it needed a soft reset. Dunno for sure why, it's possible it happened when I got a new email each time (which should play a sound/notification, worked in my rom.) I'll keep an eye on that, not sure what is going on there.

I'm waiting on that one (since it has a number of fixes vs .10) to start the documentation bit... I have been running .10 with some workarounds for a week or so, it's clearly better then the old Helmi_c 3.5 base kitchen... so we're very close to a good release to Q/A.

(I guess I'm "pre-Q/A")
