We can do both, but if one has to be done it should be 3.5.

3.5... it actually is much more stable for me then 3.3, and I believe the remaining issues can be resolved with a little head banging.

I could live with 3.3, but 3.3 data connections would get wedged/disconnected and then would never re-connect without a soft-reset, and that has not happened in a week since 3.5.

That's my vote anyway.

We might decide to take on a second ROM after the first one is completed. It just depends on how successful we are. So, I guess a better way of phrasing the question is, which ROM should we do first?

3.5

Unless 3.5 just breaks too many programs, I say go with the latest if it has to be a choice...

Keep in mind that issues like your data-disconnect would be resolved as part of the project!

Why not have the best and latest if we can. Right now 3.5, sooner or later wm6 (if it doesnt bring up any legal issues). i believe we have seen the most that 3.3 has to offer and it was running pretty stable for me at the time. 3.5 has a lil more work to be done and together we can do this. Just my $0.02

I sort of lean towards 3.3, unless we can get Wireless Modem working on 3.5. Wireless modem is a good 15-20% faster than Internet Sharing consistently in my tests. Also, Terminal Services Client would be important too, for me anyway

I say 3.5 because we've pretty much gotten all we can from 3.3. 3.3 was a great place to learn, but 3.5 is where we should put it into practice.

Edit: After further thought, can I change my vote? 3.3 seems like a good starting point because there are less bugs right now. What bugs are left, may help lead us to a fix for 3.5 bugs.

I actually would lean more in the direction of 3.3. The 3.3 rom has been almost entirely fixed and could be put into a kitchen quicker.

Yuma, you are correct, we have gotten the most out of it. That is why I believe it is a better candidate. We (you, I, and others) have built roms that seem to be running just fine. However, the purpose of building a kitchen is to allow average users the ability to create their own rom with apps of their choice.
