At least the idea anyways, I'm not saying it has to be anything like portage. I just think it should be done this way, so that we don't rely on a website being up to date every time a little change goes into an addon.

Also make it easier for people to 'try' things with out having to wait for the website to rebuild it and download it. Also an addon could also remove things from the vanilla like help files to save space.

This is a valid point....App or web??

We do have some time to think about it, as the ROM work will need come first.

This may come down to the resources we have available, i.e., where do our abilities lie, web-based development, or C++, C#, etc.

Since this was the thread that started it all, can some of you take a look at the process proposal and provide feedback? So far, not a lot has been said about the process, and I just want to make sure we're all in agreement, for the most part. If we're not, then we can have some healthy debate.

Remember, I only proposed the process as a starting point. We all have to work together, so your ideas and suggestions are encouraged.

I like the process as is. I think that maybe the timelines can be shortened, but alas I realize that we all have other lives, so maybe it is not too bad to allow some wiggle room.

Yeah, my wife gets a tad unhappy about 9-10 hours into a ROM build, and I just can't seem to step away until the 14 hour debacle is over. So wiggle room would be nice! That said, I like the process. I tend to work significantly less structured than that, but having structure will be what insures a good, bug free, user-friendly final product.
