keyboard/softkey shortcuts?

I've been searching for awhile on this forum, but I still can't find a way to create a shortcut that takes you DIRECTLY to a new text message or new calendar item.

Since I have my calendar on the homescreen, the only reason I actually go into the calendar app is to create stuff - why not just have the shortcut directly to it?

This seems like it would be relatively easy to do, but any ideas on this or something like it would be greatly appreciated Ideally, I'd like to set my 2 homescreen softkeys to those for one-touch access.....

thanks in advance
jm

Re: keyboard/softkey shortcuts?

The way the softkeys and shortcuts are set up is to take you to a specific application, I dont think there is anything that can take you to a specific spot inside an application. However I like the idea so I will keep an eye out and let you know if I find anything.

No it is just a link file. I found it ages ago on some other site. I tried to remember were but couldn't. I did however find this over on xda dev which is pretty much the same sort of string I use but better. It gives info on new messages, calendar entries and more plus how all the info the op should need if they want to change the soft keys.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...=252250&page=2

this is a lot better than my original solution. I personally, however, think I am going to leave the new message mapped to opt + messaging.

Also, read the whole post if you have issues, it does give some trouble shooting ideas.
