Re: Free way to use phone as modem

Uhh, dont you just plug it in your computer goto PROGRAMS> INTERNET SHARING??

You dont need all these other things, this is standard for ALL WM devices! (or should be?)

Its funny how its overlooked...anyways, worked find on my Q9c, havent tried on my TreoPro, but I'd assume its exactly the same ol thing. Click it, select usb, and ur on...

Simple as simple can be.

Exactly..

This CAB was working for me but no longer is... even though HKLM/Comm/InternetSharing/Extension is set to "", whenver I change the registry settings from "Phone as Modem" to "Sprint PCS" they automatically revert immediately.

Re: Free way to use phone as modem

Again I used LoDown's method and it works perfectly every time. What is everyone else doing different? Is internet sharing not installed on your phone?

It is $34. If you want a cheaper one PM me for details.

Just to follow up... the problem was on my computer. I had to delete the Windows Mobile Device drivers and reconnect my phone. Then everything worked fine again. Note that I had to display hidden devices in "Device Manager" before I could fully delete the old WM installs.
