How to enter the boot loader

I'm assuming this is the same for the CDMA versions. Anyone confirm?

Here's the procedure to enter bootloader mode on the Treo Pro, aka Treo 850. This is another proof (not that you needed any more) that it is manufactured by HTC, since you can enter bootloader mode the same way as, say the HTC Trinity (TRIN100):
http://www.treoprotricks.com/image.a...Bootloader.jpg
  1. Remove the battery cover
  2. Hold down the camera button at the left side
  3. Hold down the power button at the top
  4. Soft-reset with the stylus
This also reveals the device codename: PANT100, which we may safely assume to be HTC Panther, since the Treo 750 was Cheetah. My device reads:
PANT100
SPL-0.59.0000
CPLD-2

Let us know if you have different values, this could be interesting to nail down certain bugs to specific rom versions.
To quit the bootloader mode, just soft reset again.

just did it yesterday, its the exact same. The alltel verison is different though with version numbers. this is what I got:

PANT200
SPL-0.38.0000
CPLD-2

Before I finally purchase one, can I access the NVM folder with MSL easily from bootloader?

Re: How to enter the boot loader

My Pro was given to me by Sprint for having too many issues with the 800w, I saw that there was an update with ROM 1.03 to the 1.04, when performing the update, I may have by accident moved the USB cord, now the phone wont boot up nor a hard reset will do, the boot loader screen will come up with the following in RUUNBH PANT200 SPL-0.36.0000 CPLD-2 upgrade ROM code error Please try again

Anyone have an idea on how I can get the update or restore to default the device?

Hardcore,
Start the 1.03 to 1.04 update, when the tools extract themselves there will be an ruu_signed.nbh, put that on a FAT32 formatted SD card called pantimg.nbh. Force bootloader mode and it should re-flash for you.

Re: How to enter the boot loader

khalaan,

Thanks, I was up all night trying different ways to get the device to pick up on my pc, I found a way which was removing the battery hitting end, camera, and reset. while holding the buttons went and inserted the battery back on the released the buttons the computer picked it up, but i was lucky one of the attemps to reach 77%, so I tried what you said, Formatted an Micro SD card into a FAT32 format card, Extracted the 1.03 t0 1.04 upgrade file rru_signed.nbh, renamed that same file to pantimg.nbh, put that remaned file into the micro sd card, insert the card to the device put it on the bootloader page, and ran the install, thank you again for the adive, it was very helpful.
