Treo Pro CDMA: Sprint to Metro - what's first?

Hello again,

This is my first post, aside from my intro post. I have read and read, and then read some more on the Treo Pro. The thousands of hours spent on developing and otherwise improving and helping others here is amazing.=D>

Unfortunately for me, I am a bit confused on the order of things & am a total noob when it comes to personalizing a phone. Leaving aside why I would want to be on Metro, what should I do first in the grand scheme of things?

Do I need to unlock the TP, then flash the ROM before I take it to Metro to initiate service, or do I take it to Metro first, then unlock and flash the TP? It's apparent I don't grasp the meaning of each, so the order does not make sense to me.

For now, I am guessing I would unlock the TP & flash the ROM, then take it to Metro, where they assign me a phone number on their system.

Otherwise, I am decently proficient in technical and hands-on things. BUT, I am sure to have some follow-up questions from the expereinced folks here.

TIA.

There are different kinds of "Flashing". You need a Carrier CDMA FLash. The ones on this site are just for ROMS which do not alter your actual firmware. You need tools such as CDMA workshop
