new to the pro, recommend me stuff!

hi all, i recently got my palm pro and really like it. what programs and tweaks are best to do? i read thru the sticky and checked out a few things. ive read about kinoma, does that work with the winmo6.1 os? should i flash to winmo6.5? what else should i download / customize??

Flashing would be the first thing I'd do!!!! But now which rom to use is all on you some like lean fast some like preloaded roms but like i said that's all up to you.

Here is what I use with Icons latest ROM:
- Google Maps
- HTC mp3 trimmer (for making ringers)
- S2U2 2.41 (for locking phone screen)
- S2P ver. 0.83 for a IPhone like mp3 player and works with S2U2)
- HTC Addicts Clean Ram (helps keep ram usage down)
- Resco Registry Editor
- Resco File Explorer
- Home Screen Customizer (Get through Marketplace some include it in their roms i.e Icons latest)
- RealVGA with 6.5 updates (Helps make more room on screen)
- Skyfire (for web browsing) some also choose to use Oprea
- Latest FaceBook App (find it at XDA-Developers if not I have the latest I can send)
- Screen Capture (for taking screen shots just like on your PC)
- ATContacts ver.0.98 (adds a favorite people spot on home screen)
- WIFIRouter ver. 1.52 (I use this version cause it's still free)

that icon rom sounds pretty cool. a few questions:

how exactly do i flash a different rom to a phone? can it be done thru just a cab file, or does the pro need to be connected to my pc? i didnt receive the usb cable with my pro (got it used) but my pc does have bluetooth, will this work?

whats the difference between realvga and the regular palm pro setup? ive read a few posts referring to it but nothing has really explained what it was.

how difficult is it to flash to a new rom, and where can i get icon's rom?

All the info you need is in the upgrade sub-forums. Make sure you know if your Treo is CDMA (Sprint, etc.) or GSM (unlocked) and follow the threads. There is a lot of info which can sometimes can make your head spin!

You can flash a ROM from USB or SD card. The phone must be unlocked first. Here's a link for the CDMA unlocker. Check GSM section for info on those.

Ive said it before and I'll say it again LOL!!!! You can flash from your sdcard but talk to Skeegccp about flashing through it. He makes it almost idiot proof!!!! Not saying you are a idiot he just makes it easy!!!! Good luck again!!!
