Please help SMS Char limit
 

Hello, i have a Palm Treo Pro with winmo 6.5 IconROM.

my problem is:

The rom comes limited to 160 chars for sms but im from mexico and my carrier and all the mexican carriers support only 150 chars. by this, when i send a sms longer than 150 chars the other person recieves it incomplete and now, the only thing i can do is type 10 spaces between 150 and 160 chars to continue typing the message on the char number 161.

i want a yo know a registry tweak or something to change the limit from 160 to 150.

if someone can help me i will be very pleased. thank you.

That's a carrier side issue. Short of talking to your carriers, I am not sure if much else can b e done.

use a registry editor

HKCU > Software > Microsoft > SMS > Textshared
set max ascii characters to 150 (or whatever your carrier dictates)

Thank you, but my treo has no registry entries in this path, i added a dword MaxAsciiCharacters and set to 150, im reseting the device and hope it works....

Ok, my device is runing now and i have bad news, adding a registry entry doesnt work, thank you very much for your help but, any other idea.

"IS637MaxAsciiCharacters" is what you have to call the DWORD
