space bar and other buttons exit applications and go to today screen / call history
 

so this just started happening this morning and as the title says the space bar and other buttons (option key, period and caps lock) exit texting (tmail.exe) Opera Mobile and other applications and then it goes to the today screen or my call history. I have backed up my phone with sprite backup, hard reset and then restored with sprite and the issue remains. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

when you restore with the sprite backup its going to restore ALL your settings reg edits ect. try just restoring your contacts/events and then go from there and see what that gets ya.

hey, thanks! thats what I ended up doing just installing my contacts events & email, but now I cant re-setup my gmail acct because the old one is still lurkin in the background... l I can see "Gmail 27 unread" on my today screen under messages but once I open the email account picker I only have SMS/MMS and outlook.... anyone know how to remove the old email account settings?

go to your working email account then pull up the menu bar at the bottom, go to either options/accounts or straight to accounts i cant remember off the top of my head then you should be able to delete which gmail account you need to

I used to have this issue back when I first got this phone. I made a thread about it but that was back when this first came out and nobody really knew what the correlation was. I found that it was Sprite that screwed it up somehow, and switched to using PIM backup. Much better.
