Battery only last a few hours

I fully charge my Treo Pro and within 2 hours it's at 70%! After about 8 hours it's dead! I have 6.5 and SPB Shell. I swear I only sent and received about 6-8 texts during this 8 hour time frame. No phone calls or internet surfing. Is there something running in the background I may not be aware of? Thanks.

Did you get it new or used? Has it always been that way? How is your signal? Push email? Wifi on? Bluetooth? If you're in a fringe area that could really affect battery life.

It could be a number of things, but those are some things to consider. You could always try a hard reset in case it was something you installed.

I bought it used, had it flashed to Metro PCS and had internet and picture mail unlocked. I'm new to Smartphones, so I really have no idea. Just looking for a little guidance. The guy that flashed it and unlocked told me that if I do a hard reset he'll have to redo everything he did to unlock the internet and data, so I'm afraid to hard reset it....LOL. Any suggestions on were/how to check whats draining the battery? Thanks.

You can check your /Windows/StartUp folder and see if there's anything unusual in there. I haven't used SPB Mobile Shell in a while, but plenty of people do. Make sure nothing is constantly on the internet.

You can search for a cab on here that will automatically disconnect the internet after 1 or 2 minutes of being idle.

Check your backlight settings. Try to keep it in the middle if possible. Check the power settings and make sure the backlight turns off in 10 or 30 seconds to make sure its not on for long periods of time in your pocket.

How is your signal? Unfortunately there's no much you can do if its bad, but if it is, that could be a major reason for battery drain.

If you bought it used the battery could just be worn. They don't last forever, so if its possible to get a 2nd one to try, you may also consider that.

I may have found a problem. I went to File Explorer, and every time I select Windows, the phone locks up. I can go to other files no problem
I did a soft reset and no help

OK, nevermind, got into Windows and startup. What should I be looking for in there?

For a start, maybe you can list down what you have in there?
