Faster Treo Pro?

Ive had my Treo since april and I've noticed in the last month or two that it has gotten painfully slow (esp with sms). I dont have a lot tweaked on it, just quickgps, the htc home screen clock, and a handful of apps that dont run in the background. Anyone have any tips/ hacks to get my performance back? Or should i just hard reset/ reflash?
