Signal Strength

I know that the signal strength "bars" has been discussed before but has anyone brought this up to either Sprint or Palm? I have noticed that when in an evdo area I have usually 1 or 2 bars get the signal strength reads ~70db. On occasion I will display full bars. I have noticed that when doing a speed test when the 700 shows full bars I pull down much faster speeds than when I have 2 bars.

Has anyone else noticed this? Or similar to a few weeks/month ago when the network speed dropped to roughly 150kbits/sec on ave. My data rate seems rather slow as I am lucky to hit 300kbit/sec now (which seems to be Sprints lower limit when talking to a tech rep)
