Newbie question on messaging hotkeys

(Cross-posted from Treo Central, just in case a helpful person visits here but not there....)

I just converted to a Treo 700wx from a Blackberry. Love the Treo, but like all transitions, there are some small things that "worked better the old way."

Managing my e-mail is one of them. On the BB, I could just type "D" to delete a message without even having to open it, if it was spam or otherwise obviously unwanted. When I press "D" on my Treo, nothing happens. Even if I open the message and then press "D" still nothing happens. I need to open the menu, and then pressing "D" becomes available to me. Same with "R" for reply and "L" on the BB ("E" on the Treo) for reply to all.

Is there a known hack or app that will provide the Treo with that functionality that I loved in my BB?

Thanks in advance to all for your help!!

Unfortunately not. Using shortcut keys in Windows Mobile is completely dependent on what menu you have open and the program you're trying to use it in. It will be a two-press process regardless of the device as long as you're using Pocket Outlook.

Other email programs could work differently though. Certainly, Blackberry for Windows Mobile Devices would keep the shortcuts active. Some other third-party email software may also do what you're looking for but, unfortunately, I've only ever used Pocket Outlook.
