Email Best Practices and SPAM

I'd appreciate a little direction from you veteran users.

I have 3 email accounts (2 POP and Google). I do not use exchange server and get a tremendous amount of SPAM from my POP accounts. There is so much spam that it is a waste of time to receive my email on my Treo, which is the main reason that I purchased it.

How do use your Treo to receive email and cut the spam? What other best practices do you utilize when it comes to email?

I set up a new email account for my 6700 only, and I have it foreward a copy to my regular account...

Pocket Outlook doesn't have a spam filter or anything. Anything that makes it into your inbox on the pop server is going to make it to your phone.

The best tip for your current setup I can think of is to download headers only. You'll still get all the mail, but won't waste battery power/bandwidth/time with the mail you don't want.

The next best idea I can give you is to create a new email address you can check with POP and then set up forwarding rules on your other accounts to forward mail from only the people you want. If that's impossible, then I would go with the first option.

you can have gmail get all your mail from pop accounts. and google will filter all the spam. then you can sync the treo with google.
