Looking For some help here!

Hi Guys,
I'm new around here and looking for some help if someone would be so graceous. I have a Treo 700WX from Verizon and have been trying to get Google Latitude to work on it. Everything works except the function by which it will find my current location. I have read lots of stuff that says that Verizon being the bastards that they are:angry7:, disabled Location Based Service from the phone in an attempt to make people use VZ Navigator. I know that there has to to be a way to fix this issue and I'm sure that there are people here that can lead me in the right direction. I have absolutly NO experience Flashing ROM's and would need step by step instructions on how to do this if in fact that is the fix. Thanks ahead fot the info.
Jeremy

Re: Looking For some help here!

The VZW 700WX does not have GPS ability, never has (like just about all other VZW devices). As far as relying on a custom ROM to enable this, that's not going to happen, as there's very few custom ROM's available for the 700WX. There's Ebag's customized WM5 and nightraven's WM 6.1. I know of no others. Look over here...http://discussion.treocentral.com/tr...stom-roms.html or at any of the several stickies on this site.

Re: Looking For some help here!

when i installed it on my phone i was under the assumption that it would use cell towers to find location and it says i am off the west coast of Africa lol i have used a few programs that will create virtual gps using cell towers and give a com port for gps so you can use google latitude also but that route put me in a warehouse in queens ny lol and i live in mi....so as far as my experiance i dont think it will work well for our phones.
