so is there a way to not have the message popup when they come in and when i send?

You can use something like SKTools to disable the "message sent" bubble.

Additionally, go to settings/personal/sounds & notifications/notifications. Under "event" select "Messaging: New Message (or new Text Message depending on which you use) and then deselect "display messeage on screen".

Hope that's what you're looking for.

It is popssible. Just use the reg hack in the Registry Teak section to disable the SMS sent notification. AND, under Sounds and settings you can uncheck the SMS recieved notification box! Pretty simple.
