EVDO/Internet/BlueTooth and Phone All on at once.

Hey everyone:

Does any one know, if there is a hack, to have the EVDO/web on at the same time the phone is on. Because if your on the web, you cant receive phone call, and if your on the phone you cant surf the web. I know there is a hack out there so that you can use both, Because one of buddys with a windows mobile had done this before.

Thanks for all your help.

No hack needed, go to Options and enable the feature to Allow Calls to Interrupt Data.

The only time this will NOT work is if you are using 1xRTT. This is a network limitation and there's no fix for it.

Yes you can have a phone call interrupt an active EVDO session (arrows are colored white). It's in Settings>Phone>Services>Data.

I think the OP meant is it possible to be on a phone call and actively using the internet connection simultaneously, like the iPhone, and other GSM smartphones / PPCs.

This, sadly, is a no-go. I can only speak for the Sprint 700wx. And it uses the cellular line to access the EVDO network.

Yea, I didn't think it was possible to go on the web when in a call.

No CDMA phone can browse the web and talk on the phone at the same time (well, possibly a Blackberry could since I've read they use dual radios). EVDO has the advantage of allowing you to pause the data session to allow the call to come through, though. Only UMTS/HSDPA allows multiple simultaneous sessions as far as I know.

Usually mine will let me resume online if I wait a moment after the phone call is finished. But just as often I have to start all over again, which is a pita.

This option is not on my Verizon 700w and is enabled by default, because I am very often interrupted by phone calls while surfing.
