Help! My Treo700wx doesn’t turn on!
 

Hey everyone, here’s the story: I’m studying for finals when I pick up my phone to check the time. I press the End key, screen doesn’t light up. I press the Windows key, nothing. I press any key, no life.

So I take out the battery and pop it back in. TREO screen comes on, but the bar on the bottom doesn’t load. I left it alone for 10 minutes, it’s still on the TREO screen. I tried everything but a hard reset, because I don’t know what does.

Is the phone officially dead?
What does a hard reset do? Erase everything? (Calendar events, contacts, pics/files on phone?)

a hard reset takes phone back to stock. all info., apps ect. gone unless you have an sd card. that info. is safe.

Are my contacts, calendar events, etc stored on my SD card automatically (by default)? Aren't they stored in the main memory?

just use spb backup to save contacts ect. theres a free trial with this link. i think its 5 free backups. http://spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/backup/

edit: I left it on for 30 minutes before it finally went through. Backing up info immediately.

This is exactly why a good b/u app is a must have for any WM device....even if it means forking out a few bucks for a quality app like SPB Backup

I use PIM on my Touch and my wife uses PIM on her Treo 700wx, that one works for our needs....
