How long has this been happening? Had you just loaded a new program? What happens if you plug in your activesync cable? Can you sync to your pc?

I would plug in your active sync cable into your phone and pc and see if this doesn't help the situation. Perhaps soft resetting while you're synced.

If nothing helps you might be looking at a hard reset.

Keep us posted.

late,
Coz

well as I installed the youtube plugin i wanted to do a soft reset, but first before soft resetting I disconnected my usb sync cord was yanked from the phone when it was connected online via pdanet. Next thing you know the data from the last time I synched shows up on my treo screen and freezes my phone displaying that sync screen....even with a soft reset it does not solve the problem, when the today screen is loaded, for about 10 seconds the sync data screen shows up again on the treo and freezes. Activesync would be active for that first 10 seconds then it would disconnect, but will not sync if i unplug and reinsert the usb cord.........then as I do a hard reset with the backup data, the sync data screen shows up and freezes my treo again....weird.

Why not just hard reset and start over? If you have a backup, just re-load your contacts, appointments, etc.
