Problem: Can take calls but not hear the caller

screw up my call settings somehow. Effective this morning, I can take calls but not hear the caller. They can not hear me either. The last thing I have done was load my first movie and play it via TCPMP this morning....(Shrek is great on the Treo btw) I think I need to slow down on the mods, tweaks and apps for a while or start backing up daily vs. bi-weekly. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance...

From the Treo:
Hear while in speaker phone mode only

From the other end:
Hear the Treo in regular mode and Speaker phone mode

It sounds like a radio problem. Start with a soft reset. Let us know what happens. If the problem continues you might be looking at a hard reset in the near future.

I would do a full backup, then do a hard reset (assuming the soft reset doesn't help.) Then run some tests. If it works, restore your backup. If it no longer works, you'll probably need to just rebuild from scratch. If it does work, then problem solved.

I'm not sure what you could do to screw up your radio, so if it is a radio issue, I think you might have some luck and doing the backup/hard reset/restore...

Thanks to you both....the only other thing that it may be is I installed "Treo Alert" this morning....got it to load and on the Today screen. I did not have time to finish installing it so I "Removed" the program using the settings feature and deleted the app from My Documents. Guess I was due for a hard reset....I have only had the phone a month and aggressively tweaking for the past two weeks. At least I did not brick it........yet.

Looks like he solved his issue (posted in another Treo forum). He was using headphones to watch his movie and somehow the headphone jack was causing his problems.

Yep....I cant hotlink since I am a nOOb but syrguy1969 over on TC hooked me up..... you can find the thread under 700wx over there if anyone needs it. Worked like a charm....I searched both boards and found alot but not that answer. Thanks to you all....
