buying new 700wx on Ebay???

Why is it cheaper on Ebay? does it require purchasing a new line?
What is ESN?

Before i buy one I want to make sure i dont a mistake.

MrOuija36 05-19-2007 03:59 PM

i bought mine off ebay its perfect.. cheaper on ebay because they're usually used, refurbished or of course sold by real people and not sprint/verizon/palm

kinextions 05-19-2007 04:45 PM

what do i need to look out for?
i already have a sprint account. can i just buy the 700wx and replace it with my 6700?

What is ESN? and what did u pay for your phone? it ranges from 200=400???

MrOuija36 05-19-2007 05:17 PM

the ESN is this number on the inside of the phone under the battery.. and yeah i switched from my samsung a920 to the treo 700wx just call sprint and read them the esn # and they switch your service to that phone

and i piad $300 for mine

just make sure you read the description carefully and also look @ their feedback.. the guy i bought it from had 99% positive feedback so it was pretty much a done deal lol

kinextions 05-19-2007 05:29 PM

thanks for the feedback.

how do you like the 700wx? i have the 6700 but i dont think i want to wait for the 6800.

ESN = Electronic Serial Number

As suggested, when buying from Ebay, check out the seller's feedback and make verify that the ESN is clean and not stolen. If you ask the seller, they may let you know the ESN so you can call Sprint to verify that it's clean.

Do verify the description. Make sure there is no place on the add stating "Photo only", so they don't scam you by you thinking you're buying a phone, but actually you're buying a photo. If you think that's dumb, check this video out of a scammer trying to sell 2 sell phones, which are actually just photos.

Sprint or any provider will let you activate any phone, just as long as it belongs on their network. You just have to call them and let them know the ESN.

I love my 700wx. The keyboard on front makes it easy for 1 handed operation.

I haven't heard this one before. I'd like to try it, but want to get confirmation first so as not to screw anything up. I bought mine brand new off of eBay and paid $350. Only thing was, the person I bought it from is no longer a registered ebay user!!! LOL Anyway, like previously stated, watch the feedback of the person, and only buy from a US seller!

##RTN# or ##786# shows runtime and info of the phone. There's an option to reset the RTN, which I think is the master reset.
