Hello!

I have been reading these forums for a few months now and eventually decided (based on comments in this forum in particular, and because my PDA that I have been using for 5+ years finally broke) to get a treo 700WX. Should be here and activated on Saturday, and i can't wait. I'm sure I'll be asking lots of questions in here haha.

I do however have one question right now. I will probably just be keeping it in my pocket and I already bought the complete cover from bestskinsever[dot]com and I figure that will probably keep it from most cosmetic blemishes. I was wondering however if there is something to cover the screen when it is in my pocket to avoid it from being cracked under the pressure. If any of you have ideas please let me know! Also if there are any accessories for it you think are must haves lemme know! I currently have purchased an extra battery, dock with a spot to charge the extra battery, the skin, and a car charger for it.

Thanks for your time guys! -Mike

You shouldn't need a hard screen protector, unless you plan to put it into your back pocket and sit down. Also if you put other things in the same pocket, such as keys. You should, however, use one of those screen protectors to prevent it from scratches.

As far as accessories, it looks as though you might have covered all the basis. Slingbox isn't a necessity, but it's great to have.

Does anyone use the slingbox? If so how well does it work over the wireless broadband service? I might actually consider getting that. I typically get my homework done pretty quickly between classes and sometimes have many hours between classes and this would be a perfect way to pass the time!

It works well if you have a good UL speed.

Slingplayer rocks! I generally limit the player to 150 kbps and 15 fps because, on a little screen, you're wasting bandwidth with much more than that. A low setting also works well with almost any upload speed scenerio. Half the reason I dumped T-Mobile and went to Sprint was for the EV-DO so I could watch baseball games off my cable box. EDGE used to work, more or less, but I guess with all the people scamming T-Mobile these days it got so slow that it was worthless. 1 or 2 fps on a good day.
