activesync / net disconnect
Hey
When I connect my Treo to my laptop to sync and every time I do it, my wireless connection disconnects and I can't get it connected again until I restart it. I don't know what's going on! Any ideas? TIA Erica |
Well when you connect through AS the device uses the computer as a connection, so if you accessed the internet while your device is connected to AS, you'd be really using the computer's connection.
After you unplug the device from the AS PC, the data connection should be restored again to the provider network. Have you tried hard resetting and checking for the same issue with the device clean? Do you have any other apps, like PhoneAlarm or Phoneweaver, that can have profiles activated and hence shutting down the wireless connection? BTW, by wireless... do you mean your data, phone, or both? |
Okay, I'll explain better this time. My bad!
I use my wireless router connection with my laptop in the house and when I connect my phone for activesync, it disconnects from my wireless connection and will come back after i unplug my Treo but only for a few seconds and it will connect and disconnect over and over unless I restart my laptop. I don't have any of those programs... just the mms prog, bejeweled, and ringo. |
That's odd... I do the same with my laptop but have never been disconnected from my wireless network.
Have you tried using the USBSwitch app on the phone? Have you used your phone as a modem? Maybe the laptop is trying to fight over an AS connection and a modem connection. Don't know... just guessing here... |
what's the usbswitch?
I've never used the phone as a modem though. |
There should be an application under Start - Programs called USBSwitch. Some users that had AS issues reported them as solved after switching their USB with this app.

thanks! that worked!

I was having that problem too, I just tried that myself and my data connection is blazing fast now. I think I am now realizing some of the registery mods I found and performed a couple of days ago. Thanks
