Newest Newb, needs direction...
ok guys, just bought a 700wx today, ill have it in a few days...
i had a 6700 before so im not new to the ppc world but its been a while... what stuff are the "basics" that every 700 needs? (wow, i have a lot to download!) Every 700 needs: SMS Patch resco TCMP MMS weather Hacks: SMS sent message Screen Orientation icon Add disconnect button Disable window animation Most users like: Wis Bar Vista Theme (just for me really, but others may like it also.) Vista Dialer (just for me really, but others may like it also.) agile mobile(AIM) UI Tweaker ipod City Id (i like having this on my A940, and would like it on my 700 also.) remove logo Phone alarm Memmaid mapping software/ driving directions today agenda Opera Gmail Set-Up iLauncer DUN setuip for teh 700wx i want the photo dialer on the today screen (isnt that default on the 700?) CF 2.0 fill up a 4gb sd card Games & Emulators Free TV http://www.freewareppc.com/ http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/ SiriuCE (subscription required) XM Mini (subscription required) programs ORB spb diary vrs the other one? (i tried them both on the 6700 didnt really like either, is either one better then it was in march, or something else?) finally, on the 6700 someone had made a .exe that was full of all the "normal" hacks, is there anything like that for the 700, or is hacking not really needed? now, this has been posted, and im off to find the anwsers myself as well, so i will try to update all my questions with links to the products i will use, for future users... Video Viewer =TCPMP Phone Alarm = most people use it and skins r everywhere lite vs full read there site (pocketmaxsoftware.com) MMS and Remove Logo = most people have (i love) both found here aim = verichat but it just got bought out and lost its best feature... or agile messenger Mapping/Dircetions = for gps u need bt gps adaptor... otherwise Maps24Mobile can be found here same with google maps Dialer = i dont know push the green button go to dial pad  for vista = [color=red=Wisbar Advance 2[/color] + Vista Skin-- slows your phone down alot ipod = ppod...but not really phone 240x240 yet --- found here weather = weatherpanel ---skins also all over (here and the website) games = check out ppcfreewarez.com Emulators = http://ppcfreewarez.com/ Roms = find on your own we dont deal with here (google is your friend) Web Browser = opera or netfront class... time to go... neone feel free to chime in

Get MemMaid to keep your 700wx happy. Also Today Agenda is very nice. Try Micorsoft Live Search, UranusWare for one-handed operations of WP, and UI tweaker.

Whats up guys, just wanted to say thanks this site has helped me (complete newb to treo) alot. However I have a couple problems tried searchin bout didn't find much to help out. First is there anything out there that will show i had a missed call other than phonealram, dont want to pay 25 just to show missed calls. The other problem is my snes emu will not pick up my roms. I used these on the ps2 so i know they work. Do I have to do something special to them when transfering them over. TIA.

There is no point in a screen orientation icon...its a 240x240
Also the only mapping software you need is the MS Live search.

This is exactly the kind of post i've been looking for. Got my Treo 700wx back in November...but haven't done anything to it besides installing the MMS patch and purchasing a 4GB storage card.. Now I that I hav a little more time on my hand... it's time to go play around with some of these programs u guys have recommended...

thank you for this post. i'm a complete newb to these types of phones so this thread helps. i've been searching a lot about things i would like to do to my phone but haven't found all the answers but i will continue to search. is there a place i can go to get all of the basics? is there a good thread i could read? i'm trying not to ask questions that have been asked many times but when i search sometimes i come up with an answer but if i keep searching i find something that contradicts it so its a little frustrating.
